Canadian entrepreneur, Shabbir experienced a life-long dilemma while raising his two children!
In order to satisfy the endless quenching of his daughter’s sweet tooth, a family debate would ensue
around “which is it?” Is it Gelato or is it Ice Cream? Needless to say, little Afsheen always won the debate.
Yet, dad Shabbir also wouldn’t budge. After spending so many years travelling first to an ice-cream shop,
then to a gelato shop, the father and daughter dual decided, enough is enough.
“Let’s just open our own shop!”
The Sweet Scoop Ice Cream & Gelato Co. was founded and true to its venerable tag-line, it’s not really
the Sweet Scoop that was established since the beginning of time, but definitely both Afsheen’s sweet
tooth and indeed, every child’s sweet tooth has been established since, “the beginning of time.”
Over 70 rotating flavours of high quality ingredients of ice cream and gelatos, together with an assortment
of great shakes, sundaes, exciting cakes and other great treats together with the
finest espresso and espresso-based beverages, teas and cater to every pallet in the family –
parents, grand-parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Yet, there is always one member of the
family who goes unchallenged and claims an indelible place in sweet tooth history – the family pet! It is
therefore only befitting that the Sweet Scoop Ice Cream & Gelato Co.’s mascot is none other than, the
“PUG!”
